George "Boots" Schoon, 88, of Sibley died Monday, May 19, 2003, at Osceola Community Hospital, Sibley.

Services were Thursday at Salem Reformed Church, Little Rock, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Mr. Schoon was born Jan. 8, 1915, in George, the son of Juren and Johanna (Schempp) Schoon. He grew up and attended school in the George area.
On Jan. 2, 1939, he married Willamina Tellinghuisen in Sibley. They farmed near George, Matlock and Reading, Minn., where he began practicing reflexology. In 1956, they moved to Little Rock where he practiced reflexology until retiring in 1999.

At Salem Reformed Church, he served as a deacon and on the consistory.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Jo) Gerken, Elaine Bossard and Mrs. Gary (Alvina) Kruger, all of Little Rock, and Mrs. Gerry (Karen) Wiertsema of Ida Grove; 13 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
