Funeral services for Katie Minnie Timmer, 88, of Worthington, MN, were held on Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the First Covenant Church in Worthington, MN. Burial was held at the Little Rock Cemetery in Little Rock. The Dingmann Funeral Home of Worthington, MN. was in charge of the arrangements.

Katie was born July 8, 1914, near Doon, to John and Katie (Peters) Snuttjer. Minnie attended school in Lyon County. She then worked at home with her father on the family farm, after the death of her mother. Later the family moved to George.

Minnie married Jans Timmer Jr. on October 6, 1940, in South Sioux Sioux City, NE. After their marriage, the couple moved to a farm southwest of George. In 1945, they moved to a farm west of Sibley. They lived there until 1978 when they retired and moved to Worthington. Minnie moved to The Meadows, in Worthington, in 2001.

She was a member of the Sibley First Presbyterian Church, where she was active in the women’s groups. She attended the First Covenant Church and the American Reformed Church, both of Worthington, MN. Minnie taught Catechism and took part in Bible Study at the Meadows and attended local Christian Women’s Organizations for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, playing the piano and spending time with her family.

Minnie is survived by her daughter, Janet (Howard) Rachuy, Worthington, MN; three granddaughters, Janine (Brian) Ford, Oakdale, MN; Vickie (David) Eckerson, Byron, MN; and Darla (Marc) Janssen, Rushmore, MN; six great grandchildren, Amy and Katie Ford, Joel and Melissa Eckerson, and Chad and Craig Janssen; and three sister-in-law, Grace Snuttjer, Elsie Snuttjer and Nancy Timmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jans, on April 30, 1981; seven brothers and five sisters.
