Richard "Dick" De Boer

Richard "Dick" De Boer, 72, Rock Rapids, died Wednesday, October 1, 1980, in a hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Bethel Reformed Church at Lester. The Rev. Norman Menning officiated. Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery at Lester under direction of the Jongewaard-Stapp Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

Mr. De Boer was born August 15, 1908, in Lyon County. He married Anna Van Floten on February 26, 1931, at Hull. He was a lifelong resident of the Rock Rapids area where he farmed the same farm for 49 years.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Miss Joan of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Jerry (Lavonne) Snyders of Larchwood; two brothers, Frank of Bellflower, Calif., and John of Sioux Center; seven sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Vander Zliet and Mrs. Mina Bartels, both of Sioux Center, Mrs. Dena Blankespoor of George, Mrs. Jeanette Wesselink of Rock Valley, Mrs. Coba Raak of Orange City, Mrs. Henrietta Moss of Luverne, Minn, and Mrs. Geneva Huisman of Artesia, Calif.; his stepmother, Mrs. Jake De Boer of Bellflower, and three grandchildren.
