Frances Thiesse, 92, died Friday, April 11, 2003, in a Madison, S.D., hospital.

Services were April 15 at Bolin Funeral Chapel, Little Rock, with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Frances Pater was born Nov. 29, 1910, at Sioux Center, the daughter of Gerrit and Geritje (Vlastuin) Pater. She grew up in Harris, Sheldon, Sibley and Ashton.

On Oct. 14, 1930, she married Harold Thiesse. They farmed near Rushmore, Minn., until retiring in 1969 and moving to Little Rock.

Her husband died Aug. 20, 1983. She moved to Madison in 1984, then to Ramona Assisted Living in 2001.

Survivors include one son, Howard of Deadwood, S.D.; two daughters, Joycelyn Kale of Arizona City, Ariz., and Marvella Henrichs of Ramona, S.D.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and three brothers, Henry, Marvin and Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Charles, Albert, Herman and Gerhart; four sisters, Gertie, Hattie, Ann and Jannie, and one grandchild.
