Inwood-Special to the Reporter-Funeral services for A.N. Helder who passed away at his home here last Thursday morning were held at the Methodist church on Saturday afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. R.E. Willis.
Albert Nathan Helder was born in Freeport, Ill, August 7, 1860. At the time of his death he was 67 yeats 7 months and 8 days old. His mother died when he was nine years old and a year later he moved with his father to Fort Scott, Kansas. At the age of 17 he located on a farm south west of Inwood, moving a little later to what is now known as the Helder farm, where he resided until eight years ago, when he moved his family to Inwood.
On October 10, 1888 he was united in marraige to Eva J. Kornder. To this union were born nine children. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two sons, Draper and Arthur of Canton, S.D., daughters, Mrs. Arthur Hanson, Ella, Ruth, Esther and Carol of Inwood, and a son Lee of Palo Alto, Calif. Another son Floyd, preceded him in death eight years ago. Other relatives are C.S. Helder of Inwood and C.W. Helder of Elgin, Ill., his brothers and four sisters, Mrs Frank Beck of Canton, Mrs George Whitmore of Shanon, Ill., Mrs Lew Wright of Superior, Nebr and Mrs Frank Pellett of Lawrence, Kansas.
Mr. Helder joined the Methodist church at Fort Scott, Kansas, when he was fourteen years of age and at the time of his death held membership with the Inwood church of the same denomination.
