Funeral Services For Mrs. Richters Held Here Mon.
Died After Long Illness; Had Lived in County Many Years.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Richters were held at Immanuel Lutheral church here on Monday, January 14. Mrs. Richters had died Wednesday night of last week after a lingering illness.

Services were in charge of the Rev. Mr. Englehardt, and the Lockwood Funeral Home made arrangements. Burial was made at Riverview cemetery.

Josephine Malvine Richters was born July 14, 1884, in Ida County,Iowa. She was the second eldest daughter of Jurgen and Margertha Brendes Kock. October 24, 1886, she was baptized in the Lutheran faith and she grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Holstein.

Married in 1905

In 1905 she was united in marriage to Herman Raabe. To this union two sons were born, one of whom died in infancy. The Raabes later moved to Doon and still later to their farm north of Rock Rapids, where they lived for seven years. Mrs. Raabe and her son, Lyle, spent some time at Excelsior Springs, Mo., and at Lester, and then moved to the vicinity of Ellsworth.

On June 30, 1925, she was united in marriage with Henry Richters. To this union one daughter was born. Mrs. Richters was confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran church October 20, 1929. In 1930, the family moved to a farm north of Rock Rapids where they lived until the death of Mrs. Richters.

Church Member

Besides being a regular attendant at Immanuel Lutheran church, Mrs.Richters was a member of the Tabithian society.

Survivors include her husband, Henry, a daughter, Audrey, who is at home, a son, Lyle, at Holstein, Iowa, and six sisters, Mrs. Katherine Schoer of Belview, Minn., Mrs. Fieda Schubert of Echo, Minn., Mrs. Claus Scherner of Kingsley, Iowa, Mrs. John Rone of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs.David Carpenter, of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Elmer Hartenhoff of Geneva, Ill., and a brother, George Kock, of Sioux City. A brother, a sister, and her parents preceded her in death.

Pall bearers were William Schubert, Lawrence Schubert, Henry Golte, Adolph Berg, George Eihausen and William Ahders.
