Wlllard Stockwell, one of the old and highlv esteemed cltlzens of Lyon county, died at his home ln Riverslde township on Wednesday of last week. Mr. Stockwell was born in Greenville, Mass., Aug. 17, 1840. He was the father of nine children, seven boys and two girls. He served three years ln the Civil war enlistlng in Co. F. 3lst. Mass. The funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Rev. J. Morgan Harris, ln the Chrlstlan Church. the sons of the deceased acting as pall bearers. Mr. Stockwell was a man well spoken of by his neighbors, a man quiet ln his ways and honest in his dealings with his fellow men. Some weeks ago he fell from a load of hay and received injuries from which he finally died.

The passing of such men from our midst always brings a sense of loss, but our hopes.follow them for we know that whatever that other world may be, for such as he, all is well. Requiescat in peace.
