John Yeigh died at the county home about 10 o’clock last Sunday morning, April 15, 1923. He had been sick for months. For some time he lived alone in a small house near the county home.

Having no one to care for him there, he became a public charge some months ago and entered the home. He was seriously ill four weeks before his death. The attending physician gave apoplexy as the cause of death. A brother from Cedar Rapids was with him last Friday and Saturday.

Burial took place in Riverview cemetery Wednesday. The deceased man was 54 years old. He had lived in the Rock Rapids vicinity for many years and was employed for some time by Jay Dougherty. More recently he had been doing odd jobs. He was a faithful workman and had many other good qualities.
