Fred Lursen

Fred Lursen, aged 82, died at George Monday, July 9, 1923. The funeral was held on the following
Thursday, services being conducted by Rev. Boell. and Rev. Uhden. Interment was in the George cemetery. The deceased man was born at Dietzemer, Hammrich, Eastfriesland, February 9, 1841.

In November, 1868, he was married to Miss Toebiena Asch. To this union ten children were born, five of whom preceded their father in death. Thirty-nine years ago the family came to America, making its home at Freeport, Ill., for twenty-four years. From there it moved to South Dakota and lived there for four years. Then it came to Lyon county, Ia., and for six years lived three mile north of George. Five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Luersen moved to George.

Those remaining to mourn his departure are his wife and five children: Class, living east of George; Mrs. J. Henken, of Minnesota; Weert. and Mrs. Johnson, of Freeport, Ill., and Mrs. H. J. Klinkenborg, of George.
