Death darkened the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hopmans, five miles south of Rock Rapids, , Tuesday, March 27, when at 4 o’clock in the afternoon it claimed their 2-year-old son, Arthur, the baby of the family. Double pneumonia was the cause, the little one having been sick for twelve days. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, services being conducted the home and at the Lutheran church at Alvord by Rev. E. H. Jahr. There was a large attendance, bespeaking the sympathy felt for the bereaved family.
