Obituary: Inwood, Iowa - Verlys Grau, 84, of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Inwood, Iowa died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls, SD. There will be visitation with family from 6-8 p.m., Monday at Porter Funeral Home, Inwood, IA followed by a private family burial service on Tuesday at Richland Cemetery, Inwood, IA.

Verlys Mae Jungersen was born February 11, 1925 to James and Martha (Tweedt) Jungersen in Inwood, IA. She graduated from Inwood High School. Verlys was united in marriage to Kenneth Grau on November 21, 1942 in Orlando, FL. Together they farmed near Inwood until moving to Sioux Falls, SD in 1964 where Ken worked for the South Dakota State Prison. Ken died July 3, 1996.

Grateful for having shared her life are two sons: Michael (Lorie) Grau of Sioux Falls, SD and Kirk Grau and fiancé Pam Janssen of Silbley, IA; son-in-law, Charles Veatch of Tucson, AZ; grandsons: Jay Grau, Lee (Amy) Grau, Dusty (Tara) Grau and Chip Veatch; granddaughter, Jena (TJ) Rolfing; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris (Raymond) Schaap of Beresford, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; infant son, Kim Grau; daughter, Pamela Veatch; sister, LaVonne Baustian; brother, Gene Jungersen.
