Nevada “Ann” Schnepf, age 79 of Rock Rapids, IA died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Rock Rapids Health Care Centre.

Memorial serviceswere held Friday, Nov. 13th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA.

Nevada Ann Schnepf was born April 13, 1930 in Burlington, Kansas, the daughter of Peter and Cora (Robinson) Anderson. She was raised on farm and attended Fontenelle Community Schools, graduating in 1948.

She began working at Blackstone Hotel in Omaha, NE as a receptionist, until she accepted a position at Norwest Bank in Omaha as a Personal Banker. On November 20, 1955 Ann married Rudy Bartels in Omaha, NE. In 1956 she moved across the river to Council Bluffs, IA. On May 28, 1983 Ann married Eugene Schnepf in Council Bluffs, IA. In 1985 Ann retired from Norwest Bank after 30 plus years of service. In 1988 Ann and Eugene moved to a home in Rock Rapids, IA, where she resided the remainder of her life.

Ann was a member of the “Women of the Moose, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, camping, fishing, music, collecting Cardinal figurines and plates, also, an avid reader. As a young lady she sang acapella for many weddings. In 1988, while fishing in Canada with her husband Gene, she caught a 38 ˝ inch – 15 pound Northern Pike. Ann received her “Cap & Gown” from the Women of The Moose in 1978, the honor of the highest in the Women of the Moose. She and Gene were blessed with ten plus years of Snow Bird vacations to Apache Junction, AZ.

Ann is survived by her husband, Eugene Schnepf of Rock Rapids, IA; two children, Tracy Jordan of Council Bluffs, IA and Jeff (his wife, Bobbie) Schnepf of Albany, LA; five grandchildren; Kimberly and Stephanie Axtell, Matthew and Jacqueline Schnepf, and Desiree’ Bourdreau; one sister, Geraldine Sickels of Greenfield, IA; one brother-in-law, Jerry (his wife, Pat) Schnepf; four sisters-in-law, Gladys Mitchell, Bertha Anderson, Marian Schnepf and Elinor (her husband, Charles) Ward; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Cora (Robinson) Anderson, three brothers, Everett, DeAlton and John Edmund Anderson; one sister, Nadine Blesie.
