Vira Ranney, 61, of Burlington died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Services were Monday at Riverside Baptist Church with interment in Burlington Memorial Cemetery, Burlington.

Vira Schourman was born April 8, 1940, in Rock Rapids, the daughter of Clarence and Gertrude (Snitselaar) Schourman. She graduated from Rock Rapids High School.

On Jan. 4, 1961, she married John Ranney at Luverne, Minn.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike of Burlington and Tom of Moline, Ill.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
