Emily Fisher, 94, of Rock Rapids died of heart failure Friday, April 13, 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Memorial services were Monday at Congregational United Church of Christ, Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

Emily Jammer was born Sept. 28, 1906, in Rock Rapids, the daughter of William and Dora (Koch) Jammer. She grew up in Rock Rapids and graduated from Rock Rapids High School. She received a bachelors of science degree in home economics from Iowa State University, Ames. She taught home economics in South Dakota and Texas about five years before returning home to Rock Rapids.

On Sept. 29, 1941, she married Earl Fisher. They lived in various locations while he served in the military before returning to Rock Rapids where he was an attorney.
Her husband died March 31, 1990. She became a resident of Premier Estates earlier this year.

She was a member of PEO Sisterhood and Gamma Phi Beta.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Ann) Wilke of Prairie Village, Kan., and Mrs. David (Kay) Byrd of Overland Park, Kan., and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and two brothers.
