Gloria "Gay" Breuer, 79, of Larchwood died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at Avera McKennan Hospice Unit, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Funeral mass was Monday at Church of St. Mary, Larchwood, with interment in Larchwood Cemetery.

Gloria Lynch was born April 1, 1922, at Rock Rapids, the daughter of John "Jack" and Vera (Crow) Lynch. She grew up in Rock Rapids and graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1940. She worked at Frink Bakery in Rock Rapids.

On Aug. 31, 1942, she married Robert Breuer in Larchwood. They lived in various locations while Bob served in the military. In 1946, they returned to live in Larchwood. About 1967, she began working in the furniture department for Sears-Roebuck and Co. in Sioux Falls. She retired in 1984.

She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rick of Paso Robles, Calif., and Tim of Larchwood; one daughter, Mrs. Chuck (Cathy) Wiese of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; one brother, Jack of San Jose, Calif., and two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Muriel) Schreurs of Ankeny and Jeannine Krier of Paullina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim and Joe, and one sister, Betty Jerde.
