Fred H. Stubbe was born March 16, 1898 at Freeport, Illinois. He was the son of Hendrik (Henry) and Antje (Annie) (Modder) Stubbe. He attended country school.

Fred married Minnie Konstant of Twin Brooks, South Dakota on January 16, 1923. She died on March 1, 1946. He then married Grace Konstant on August 28, 1957 at Dubuque, Iowa.

Fred was a carpenter, building many of the homes and buildings in the George, Iowa area. He was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of George.

He died Tuesday December 27, 1994 at the George Good Samaritan Center at the age of 96 years, nine months and 12 days.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Grace, of George, Iowa and one daughter, Gladys Schneiderman and husband John of George, Iowa. Also left to cherish his memories are two grandchildren, Jeannette Schubert and husband Randy of Shakopee, Minnesota; Eldon Schneiderman of George, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Schubert of Prior Lake, Minnesota and Rachel Schubert of Shakopee, Minnesota and one sister, Sena Rustman of George, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Minnie; five brothers; two sisters; and grandson, Glennis Frederick Scneiderman.

Funeral services for Fred H. Stubbe were held Friday, December 30, 1994 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, George, Iowa with interment at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery west of George.
