Doris Stubbe was born December 7, 1943 at Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Gladys (Duin) Van Briesen. She graduated from the George, Iowa High School in 1961.

She married Lawrence H. Stubbe on August 14, 1970 at Zoar Presbyterian Church. Doris worked at George State Bank for 24 years as cashier.

She was an active member of Zoar Presbyterian Church, serving as Sunday School teacher, first woman elder and member of the Loyal Women Circle. She was also a member of the Merrill Pioneer Hospital Board and Auxiliary.

Mrs. Stubbe died Saturday, September 7, 1991 at the Merrill Pioneer Hospital at the age of 47 years, 10 months.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of George, Iowa; mother, Mrs. Gladys Van Briesen of George, two brothers, Larry and wife Carol Van Briesen of Ellsworth, Minnesota, and Paul Van Briesen of George; two sisters, Miss Thelma Van Briesen and Ladonn and husband Norwood Geerdes, all of George; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter.
