Mrs. Esther Annie Hinrichs was born August 8, 1908 at Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Hendrik (Henry) Stubbe and Antje (Annie) (Modder) Stubbe. She attended country school.

She married John H. Hinrichs on February 14, 1939. They farmed southwest of George, Iowa until the time of her husband’s death. Esther was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of George, Iowa and an active member of the choir and United Presbyterian Women.

She died January 21, 1991 at McKennen Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 82 years, five months and 14 days.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Joel, of George, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Joan Stora of Vancouver, Washington; two brothers, Fred H. Stubbe and Charles Stubbe, both of George, Iowa; and one sister, Sena W. (Stubbe) Rustman, also of George.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 1980; four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held for Esther Hinrichs on Friday, January 25, 1991 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church of George, Iowa, with interment at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, west of George.
