Obituary:

Waterloo, Iowa - Betty Quinn, 80, formerly of Doon, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m., Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Alvord, Iowa. Burial at Hillside Cemetery, Doon, Iowa. Father Doug Klein will officiate.

Betty Jean Wendorff was born April 23, 1929 to Frank and Hannah (Nehk) Wendorff in Franklin, Minnesota. She grew up in the Belle Plaine, MN area where she graduated from High School. Betty was united in marriage to Vernon Quinn on August 17, 1949 in Luverne, MN. Together they lived in Doon, Iowa, where Betty was a homemaker and worked part-time as a clerk at the Doon Post Office. Vernon died in October 15, 2003. In 2006, Betty moved to Waterloo, Iowa, to be closer to her daughter, Pam.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Pam Nichols of Waterloo, Iowa; 3 grandchildren: Paul (Beth) Nichols, Patrick Nichols all of Waterloo, Iowa and Elizabeth Nichols of Minneapolis, MN; 1 great-grandson, Benjamin Nichols; brother-in-law, Wilfred (Maria) Quinn of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Shirley (Bill) Zornig of Sioux Falls, SD; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Vernon; brothers: Orville, Maury and Lowell Wendorff; sisters: Iona Peterson and Mildred Wendorff.
