Beverly Kruger, age 71 of Sibley, Iowa died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Memorial service were held Saturday, May 2, 2009 at First Reformed Church in Sibley, with burial will take place prior to the service at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley.

Beverly Faye Kruger was born on December 28, 1937, the daughter of Lawrence and Elsie (Schafer) Doorenbos in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She grew up in Boyden, Iowa and graduated from Boyden High School in 1956. On March 23, 1960, she was united in marriage to Ronald Kruger. The couple lived on a farm north of Sibley until 1981. After a short time in town they moved to the present farm southeast of Sibley. Bev loved helping her husband Ron farm and in their spare time enjoyed fishing together. Following Ron’s death on August 9, 2000, Bev lived on the farm until 2007, when she moved her house into Sibley. Bev was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sibley. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, flowers, reading, crafts, traveling with her daughter and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Bev is survived by two children, Pamela Kruger of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Timothy (wife, Jodie) Kruger of Sibley, Iowa; two grandchildren, Jared and Katie Kruger; three brothers, Glenn Doorenbos of Sibley, Harlin (wife, Maggie) Doorenbos of Sioux Center, Iowa and Donald (wife, Waneta) Doorenbos of Boyden, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Rosella (husband, Art) Alons of Sheldon, Iowa and Leona Eben of Sibley; two brothers-in-law, Robert (wife, Betty) Kruger of Sibley and Marvin (wife, Jane) Albers of Rock Rapids, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Elsie Doorenbos; husband, Ronald; daughter, Debra Kruger; father and mother in-law, Hank and Clara Kruger; brothers, Lester and Arnold Doorenbos; and sister, Lois Kuiper.
