Cheryl Ann Metzger, age 53 of Larchwood, Iowa passed away Tuesday, February 3rd 2009 at Dougherty Hospice House of Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, February 6th at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, Iowa, with burial at Larchwood Cemetery in Larchwood.

Cheryl Ann Metzger was born October 11, 1955, to James & Ruth (Krier) Snyders. She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Larchwood, Iowa, where she was raised. In eighth grade she attended West Lyon Community School and graduated in 1973. She then attended Nettleton Business College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Following graduation she was employed at Northwestern Bell as a Directory Assistance Operator.

She moved to the Luverne area and was employed many years at Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota. Cheryl moved back to Larchwood in 1991 while she was employed by the Lyon County Public Health Office as a Medical Secretary. Cheryl worked at McGreevy Clinic in Sioux Falls for 17 years where she made many lifelong friends. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and belonged to the St. Rose Circle.
She married her best friend, Mike Metzger, on July 6, 1999, and built a home in Larchwood where they enjoyed their time together. Cheryl and Mike enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening, attending sporting events and spending time with their granddaughters.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Mike; two daughters, Megan (Brian) Doherty of Inwood, Iowa and Shannon (Nick) Vanden Bosch of Larchwood; two sons, Jesse (Carrie) Boysen of Sioux Falls and Seth Boysen (special friend, Amber VanVeldhuizen) of Larchwood; two stepsons, Brock Metzger of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Brandon Metzger of Sioux Falls; two granddaughters, Tessa Boysen and Claire Vanden Bosch.

Survivors also include her father and stepmother James and Lorraine Snyders of Sioux Falls; siblings, Mike (Glenda) Snyders of Sioux Falls, Larry Snyders (fiance Peggy McIntyre) of Sioux Falls, Shelley (Jeff) Gerber of Queen Creek, Arizona, Randy (Denise) Snyders of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Robin (John) Baranowski of Port Republic, Maryland, Joe (Deb) Snyders of Larchwood, and Sandi (Paul) Lundberg of Brandon, South Dakota. Others to cherish her memory are her Metzger family, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Snyders, brother, Mark Snyders, and grandparents, Paul and Clara Krier and Joseph and Lorena Snyders.
