Sadie Petrich, 97, of Rock Rapids died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Rock Rapids Health Centre.
Services were Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in Richland Cemetery, Inwood.

Sadie Bladow was born May 23, 1905, at Hankinson, N.D., the daughter of Robert and Anne (Jahnke) Bladow. She grew up and attended country school near Hankinson.

On Jan. 13, 1926, she married Fred Petrich at Hankinson. They lived in Hankinson, Sheldon and Inwood.

Her husband died Nov. 23, 1959. She continued living in Inwood and babysat in her home for several families. She later moved to Rock Rapids. On April 3, 1992, she became a resident of Rock Rapids Health Centre.

Survivors include three sons, Dwayne of Parkers Dam, Calif., George of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Charles of Benson, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Elaine) Ahders of Cloverdale, Calif., Mrs. Norman "Buzz" (Marilyn) Hass of Rock Rapids and Marlys Carpentier of Corona, Calif.; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; four great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Lloyd of Belleair Bluffs, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Lorraine Steele; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur and Roy, and two sisters, Linda Bladow and Glorie Wiebush.
