Simon J. Snuttjer was born September 23, 1894 at rural George, Iowa, the son of John and Hiska (Peters) Snutter. He was a life-long resident of the George area. He formed for many years, moving to the town of George in 1936. Since 1951 he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Hiska Janssen. He was a member of Hope Reformed Church of George.

On April 22, 1986 he passed away at the George Good Samaritan Center at the age of 91 year, 6 months and 29 days.

He leaves to cheris his memeories: 4 brothers; Harm and Peter Snuttjer of George, Iowa; Rev. Frank Snuttjer of Orange City, Iowa, Edward Snuttjer of Sanborn, Iowa; 2 sisters: Mrs. Hiska Janssen of George, Iowa, Mrs. Minnie Timmer of Worthington, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services for Simon Snuttjer were held Thursday, April 24, 1986 from the Hope Reformed Church of rural Geoirge, Iowa with interment in the church cemetery.
