William Gerloff was born April 7, 1915 at rural Little Rock, Lyon county, Iowa, son of William and Elizabeth (Sherfield) Gerloff. He graduated from the Little Rock High School in 1934

William married Jociel Kruger of Doon, Lyon county, Iowa in 1934. They farmed south of Little Rock, Iowa until retiring to George, Lyon county, Iowa, in 1999. The last year he was a resident of the George Good Samaritan Center, where he died Friday, January 25, 2002 at the age of 86.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Jociel of George, Iowa; three daughters, Trudy Newman of Miller, Nebraska; Tyanne and husband Keith Peters of Placerville, California; Tanell and husband Marvin Wirzba of Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for William Gerloff, Jr. were held Monday, January 28, 2002 at First Baptist Church, northeast of George, Iowa with interment at Zoar Presbyterian Cemetery east of George.
