Geneva Van Tilburg was born June 1, 1960 at Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, the daughter of Floris and Dolores (Goldhorn) Van Tilburg. She moved with her family to George, Lyon county, Iowa where she grew up. She attended school in Doon, Lyon county, Iowa and George, graduating from George High School in 1978. Following high school, Geneva attended LPN School in Sioux Falls. She later completed her RN degree in 1988.

She married Ken Letze on December 14, 1990 at Rock Valley, Sioux county, Iowa. She began her career at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, when she completed her LPN degree in 1979, and continued to work there until the time of her death. Geneva loved people, and dedicated her life to taking care of them.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Ken Letze of Chancellor, South Dakota; her daughter, Miranda Letze of Chancellor; her parents, Floris and Dolores Van Tilburg of Rock Valley, Iowa; her brothers, Vernon Van Tilburg and his wife, Sue, of Doon, Iowa and Gerald Van Tilburg and his wife, Judy, of George; and one sister, Anita Fluit and her husband, John, of Inwood, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, and two nephews, Jonathan Paul Wolff and Brady Van Tilburg.

Funeral services for Geneva Letze were held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 22, 2002 a the Netherlands Reformed Church, Rock Valley, Iowa with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
