Funeral services for Gertrude Nyenhuis, 64, of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, were held December 23, 1992 in the Christian Reformed Church, Rock Rapids, with interment in Riverview Cemetery.

She died Sunday, December 20, 1992 in the Rock Rapids Health Centre.

Gertrude Harmsen was born December 2, 1928, near Alvord in Lyon county, Iowa. She attended country school near there and in Rock Rapids.

On May 12, 1948, she married Gerrit Nyenhuis in Rock Rapids. They lived there until 1969 when they moved to California. They returned to Rock Rapids in 1974.

Her husband died November 10, 1986. She moved to the Rock Rapids health Centre in October, 1989.

Survivors include two sons, Bill and Greg, both of Rock Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Karen) Barnaby of El Segundo, California, Mrs. Mark (Glenda) Lohse of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Mrs. Norwin (Bonnie) Koel of Rock Rapids; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Jenison, Michigan, and Marion of rock Rapids, and three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Grace) Van Hill, Mrs. Allen (Ellen) Stellinga and Mrs. Dale (Mildred) Katt, all of Rock Rapids.
