Funeral services for Hattie Bloemendaal, 94, of Rock Valley, Iowa, were held December 24, 1992, with interment in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley.

She died Monday, December 21, 1992 at Hegg Memorial Hospital, Rock, Valley.

Hattie Bakker was born March 24, 1898 at Groningen, Netherlands. She came to the United States and the Orange City, Iowa, area with her family at the age of 13. The family later moved to the Rock Valley area.

On March 6, 1920, she married Cornelis Bloemendaal at Rock Valley. They lived in the Rock Valley – Doon area. They retired to Doon, Lyon county, Iowa in 1948.

Her husband died April 9, 1962.

Survivors include two sons, William of Sioux Center, Iowa and Nick of Doon, Iowa; four daughters, Mrs. Cornie (Jennie) Klarenbeek of Grandview, Washington, Mrs. Rev. John (Fannie) Riemersma of Gig Harbor, Washington, Margaret Roghair of Sheldon, Iowa and Mrs. Elmer (Grace) Van Den Top of Rock Valley, Iowa, 39 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Veltkamp of Rock Valley.
