Funeral services for Alice Buschenfeld, 87, of Toronto, South Dakota, were held November 5, 1992, at Mount Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Estelline, South Dakota, with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery.

She died Sunday, November 1, 1992 in the Estelline Community Hospital.

Alice May Blum was born September 2, 1925 in Lincoln County, Minnesota, near Elkton. In the 1930’s, she moved to George, Lyon county, Iowa, with her family. In 1943, the family moved to a farm near Estelline in Deuel County, South Dakota.

On March 18, 1945, she married Melvin Buschenfeld near Toronto, South Dakota. The couple farmed in rural Toronto. She also worked as a seamstress at Bretta Brothers in Estelline and Watertown, South Dakota.

Survivors include her husband, one son, two grandsons and four sisters, Irene Fihr of Shakopee, Minnesota, Lena Jonker of Brookings, South Dakota, Verna Eccles of Rockford, Illinois, and Lorene Strait of Watertown, South Dakota.
