Funeral services for Johanna DeGroot, 80, of Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa, were held October 7, 1992 in First Reformed Church, Inwood, with interment in Richland Cemetery.

She died Sunday, October 4, 1992, in Canton-Inwood Hospital, Canton, South Dakota.

Johanna Soodsma was born June 30, 1910, in Prairie View, Kansas.

On March 7, 1935, she married Bill DeGroot. They lived in Inwood where they ran a trucking and corn shelling business for 30 years.

Her husband died August 4, 1976.

Survivors include one son, Vernon of Aurora, Colorado; one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Frances) Kistler of El Cajon, California; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two brothers, John of Prairie View and Peter of Inwood.
