Funeral services for Esther Josephine Hauser, 92, of Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa were held October 7, 1992 in Bethel United Methodist Church, Inwood with interment in Richland Cemetery.

She died Sunday, October 4, 1992 in Fellowship Village, Inwood, following a short illness.

Esther Oakland was born February 21, 1900 near Rock Valley, Sioux county, Iowa. She graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1917 and stayed home to help her mother on the farm.

On January 15, 1926, she married Paul Hauser and the farmed for two years east of Rock Valley. The family moved to a farm near Inwood March 1, 1929, where they lived until October, 1956. they then moved to East Bend, North Carolina, returning to Inwood in 1961.

Her husband died August 29, 1968. She moved to Fellowship Village in August, 1991.

Survivors include four sons, Ralph and Edward, both of Rock Valley, Stanley of Marengo, Iowa and Kenneth of Winston Salem, North Carolina; three daughters, Anna Marie Gardner of Excelsior, Minnesota, Ruth Serck of Rock Valley and Carol Williams of East Bend, North Carolina; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lucille Johnson of Red Wing, Minnesota.
