Martin H. Ruud Dies at Larchwood Home - Was Pioneer Farmer of That Vicinity - Death Came Suddenly

Martin H. Ruud, pioneer farmer of the Larchwood, Ia., vicinity, died suddenly at his home Wednesday night Jan 3, 1934. Mr. Ruud had been a resident of that community for about 35 years.

He was up and around Wednesday, it was said, and became suddenly ill and passed away Wednesday night. He was about 74 1/2 years old.

Mr. Ruud is survived by the widow, Anna; a daughter Hilda; five sons, Nels, Carl, Frederick, Albert, and Melvin, all of whom live at home; a brother, Herman Ruud, and a sister, Mrs. Johannah Bauer, both of Gettysburg.
Funeral services will be at Grandview church in Lyon County, Ia., with Rev. T. A. Johnson, Brandon, officiating, the time to be set later. Burial will be in the Grandview cemetery. The Miller Funeral home is in charge. (Buried Jan. 7, 1934)
