Funeral services for Laurence Freese, 57, of Sibley, Iowa, were held September 28, 1992, in Lyon County First Presbyterian Church, rural George, Lyon county, Iowa, with interment in the church cemetery.

He died Friday, September 25, 1992 in Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

Mr. Freese was born October 7, 1934, in Lyon county, Iowa. He grew up in the Little Rock, Iowa area, also in Lyon county and attended school there. He served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955 during the Korean conflict.

On June 23, 1960, he married Elaine Timmer in George. He worked various jobs in the area, working 11 years at a machine shop in Sheldon, Iowa . He lived on a farm near Sibley.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Leon of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. (Sherry) Gaalswyk of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; one grandson; two brothers, John of Arnolds Park, Iowa and Vernon of Ocheydan, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Viola) Krull of Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa and Mrs. John (Bernice) Winter of George, Iowa.
