Funeral services for Luella Groen, 67, of George, Lyon county, Iowa, were held July 30, 1992 at Hope Reformed Church, George, with interment in the church cemetery.

She died Sunday, July 26, 1992 at Big Fork, Minnesota.

Luella Hilbrands was born December 27, 1924, at George. She was a life-long resident of the George area and attended country school.

On June 11, 1946, she married George H. Grown. They farmed near George until is death in 1972. She was a cook for many years in the George Community School System and was a Sunday School teacher for many years as well.

Survivors include one son, Byron of George; two daughters, Mrs. James (Melba) Apperson of Sarasota, Florida and Elmira Clark of George; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Theodore (Mildred) Groen of George.
