Funeral services for John Buitendyk, 82, of Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa were held July 25, 1992 in the Netherlands Reformed Church, Rock Valley, Sioux county, Iowa with interment in Richland Cemetery, Inwood.

He died Wednesday, July 22, 1922 in Fellowship Village of Inwood.

Mr. Buitendyk was born October 11, 1909 in Boyden, Sioux county, Iowa. He served in the army during World War II in the Signal Corps from 1942 until 1945.

He owned Buitendyk Shelling and Trucking business in Inwood from April, 1946 until July, 1968. From 1969 until 1984, he was a contract mail carrier for the post office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He moved to Fellowship Village of Inwood January 17.

Survivors include one brother, Joe, of Inwood, and three sisters, Elizabeth Burggraaf of Inwood, Mrs. Gerrit (Jeanette) Van Den Top of Rock Valley and Anne Baas of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
