Funeral services for Ray C. DeWeerd, 95, of Worthington, Nobles county, Minnesota, were held July 21, 1992 at Lynch Funeral Home, Worthington with interment in West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, Sioux county, Iowa.

He died July 17, 1992 in the Worthington Regional Hospital.

Mr. DeWeerd was born May 19, 1907, in Sioux county, Iowa. He received his education in country school in Sioux county.

On May 16, 1929, he married Grace Leusink in Sioux County. She died July 25, 1941.

On June 6, 1963, he married Virginia McKee in Water Valley, Texas.

He lived for many years in Hull, Sioux county, Iowa where he was employed as a farm laborer and with the Hull Creamery. He moved to Wisconsin in 1941, to George, Lyon county, Iowa in 1950 and Worthington in 1989.

Survivors include three sons, John of El Paso, Texas, Henry of Benton, Arkansas, and Charles of Germany; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Trina) Madsen-Schmuck of Harvard, Illinois, and Mrs. Harriet Abels of Worthington; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William of Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa and Howard of Edgerton, Minnesota, and one sister, Mrs. Jake (Winnie) Vant Hal of Hull, Iowa.
