Funeral services for Rudolph “Rudy” Schemmel, 93, of Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa, were held on June 29, 1992 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood with interment in Richland Cemetery.

He died Friday, June 26. 1992 in Fellowship Village, Inwood.

Mr. Schemmel was born March 8, 1899, in Alvord, Lyon county, Iowa. After graduating from Alvord High School and Mankato Commercial School of Mankato, Minnesota, he farmed the Alvord area.

On August 14, 1947 he married Opal Jungersen in Cushing, Iowa. They lived near Alvord until moving to Inwood in 1953. His wife taught school and Mr. Schemmel drove school bus.

On May 1, 1991 they moved to Fellowship Village.

Survivors include his wife and many nieces and nephews.
