STRAND, MARY 1896-1931
Mary Strand Dies Monday - October 5, 1931
Miss Mary Annette Strand, well known resident of Sioux township, died at the home of her sisters in Larchwood Monday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Her death was rather sudden, after being an invalid all her life.
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:00 o'clock at the home of the Strand sisters in Larchwood and at 2:00 o'clock at the Springdale Lutheran church, two miles east and one half mile north of Shindlar, South Dakota. Rev. T. A. Johnson of Brandon, South Dakota, will have charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Springdale cemetery.
Miss Strand was born in Sioux township, Lyon county, near Granite, September 4, 1896. She lived there until three years ago last spring, when she moved to Larchwood with her sisters from the farm.
Miss Strand is survived by four sisters, Misses Regina, Ida, Clara of Larchwood and Mrs. Astri Ode of Haynes, North Dakota, and one brother, Clarence, of Winefred, South Dakota. Her father, Nils T. Strand, preceded her in death in 1910, and her mother, Anne K. Strand, in 1928, one brother Thorwald, in 1927, one sister, Mrs. Olga Opsal, in 1928, and sister in infancy.
She also leaves seven nieces and three nephews. Deceased was 35 years, 1 month and 1 day old at the time of her death.
