Graveside services for Dorothy Chandler, 88, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, were held Saturday May 9, 1992 at Richland Cemetery, Inwood, Lyon county, Iowa. She died May 6, 1992 in good Samaritan Center.

Dorothy Hanson was born September 2, 1903 on a farm near Inwood, where she grew up. She graduated from the University of Iowa in the late 1920’s and then was an elementary school teacher.

On July 10, she married George Chandler in Inwood. She then taught in schools in Iowa and South Dakota for 40 years. Her husband died May 15, 1978. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Thomas of Wichita, Kansas; two grandsons; two great-grandsons and three sisters, Hattie Harvey of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. J. O. (Mildred) Downing of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Agnes Hanson of Denver, Colorado.
