Fredrick Bossard, age 56, of Dexter, died on May 10, 1998, at his home after a lengthy illness. Services were held on May 13, 1998 at Meredith Drive Reformed Church, Dexter, with interment in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George, Lyon county, Iowa.

Mr. Bossard was born on August 12, 1941, at Tilden, Nebraska, the son of Fredrick and Loyce (Kruger) Bossard. He great up in the George area and attended high school there. He graduated from Iowa State University as an aeronautical engineer.

On May 28, 1962, he married Elaine Schoon at Little Rock, Lyon county, Iowa. They lived in Ames before moving to Ankeny, Iowa, in 1964. They moved to Fort Dodge, Iowa in 1969, to Clarion in 1975, and to Des Moines in 1987. In 1990 they purchased their retirement home and moved to Diamondhead Lake near Dexter.

He was employed as an international engineer with Ryko Manufacturing at Grimes almost 11 years until his illness in October 1996.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine; three sons: David of Spirit Lake, Iowa, James of Plymouth, and Russell of Pella, Iowa; three granddaughters; his mother of George and one brother, Dennis of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
