Adeline Jensen, age 75, of Larchwood, Lyon county, Iowa, died on Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Services were held on Monday, April 27, 1998, at United Church of Christ, Larchwood, with interment in Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley.

Adeline Vande Weerd was born on June 4, 1922, in Rock Valley, the daughter of John and Ann (Boon) Vande Weerd. She grew up in the Rock Valley area and attended Christian school.

On Nov. 21, 1939 she married Gerrit William "Bill" Overman. They lived in Solvang, Calif., where they both were employed in a dairy operation. They farmed near Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa, then moved back to Solvang and returned to Rock Rapids in 1946 before moving to a farm near Larchwood in 1951. In 1953 they moved into Larchwood, and Bill began working for John Morrell and Co. in Sioux Falls.

Her husband, Bill, sided on January 9, 1972.

On Nov. 10, 1973 she married Reinhardt Jensen at Larchwood. They lived in Askov, Minnesota, for three years before returning to Larchwood. For the last seven years she had undergone kidney dialysis treatments.

Survivors include her husband, Reinhardt; a son, Bill Overman of Green Bay, Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Anita) Boslet of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Maxwell (Judith) Kamp of Peoria, Arizona; a brother, Jack, of Rock Valley; two sisters, Mrs. Hib (Marian) Kuiper of Hudsonville, Michgan, and Mrs. Lee (Rose) Van Kley of Grandville, Michigan; and 19 other descendants.
