Mariel Dreyer, age 63 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. Services were held on Monday at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Sioux Falls, with burial in St. Michael cemetery.

Mariel Monen was born on Dec. 5, 1934, in Larchwood, Lyon county, Iowa, where she received her education.

On April 18, 1953, she married Charles Dreyer in San Jose, California. They lived in Sioux Falls until moving to Madison, S.D. in 1983. They returned to Sioux Falls in 1991. She was employed as an embroiderer for Mid-States Uniform and Lettering, and Tornado Imprinted Sportswear Company.

Her husband died on Oct. 17, 1991.

Survivors include seven sons: Michael of Larchwood, Patrick of Madison, and Jeff, Todd, Bill, Greg, and Steve, all of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter, Mary Sievert of Sioux Falls; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her father, Ervin of Klondike; four brothers:, Daryl, Dennis, and Dalas, all of Klondike, and Dave of Parker, S.D.; and one sister, Darlene Monen of Canton, South Dakota.
