Max "Mike" Van Den Hul Jr., age 55, of Mason City, Cerro Gordo county, Iowa, died on Saturday, april 18, 1998, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City. Services were held on Wednesday in Thompson, Iowa.

Mr. Van Den Hul was born on October 27, 1942 in Larchwood, Lyon County, Iowa, where he attended school. He served in the army from 1964-1966.

On Sept. 24, 1966 he married Sandra Graff in Forest City, Iowa. The family lived in Joice, Iowa, and later in Thompson where he and his wife owned and operated various businesses. He served as Thompson city clerk for five years before moving to Mason City in 1993.

Survivors include his wife; five children; 13 grandchildren; and ten brothers and sisters: Herman of Chamberlain, S.D., George of Harrisburg, S.D., Tena Markle of Ankeny, Iowa, Wilma Mulder of Sioux Falls, S.D., Nellie Mullinix of Chatsworth, Marinus of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Betty Morrison, Helen Crawford and Becky Breuer, all of Larchwood, and Geraldine Leffler of Mary Esther, Florida.
