TENNYSON, ORVILLE G.
Orville G. TENNYSON was born on Mar 22 1892 in Tennyson, Indiana. He died on Mar 14 1971 in Alexandria, Minnesota. Orville was born in Tennyson, Indiana. The son of Elija and Minnie Tennyson. Tennyson, Indiana was named after his father. He spent his boyhood in that area and moved to this part of the country around the age of 16. He worked for various businesses in Rock Rapids and went into the service during World War I. Following the war, he became a postal employee, carrying mail on rural routes.

Orville was active in the VFW and American Legion organizations. He also worked on a number of community projects and was very interested in coin collecting and refinishing furniture. Tennyson was an avid golfer and was often among the better golfers at the local club.

He was married to Mayme Teresa Linkenheil TENNYSON on Jul 1 1943 in Fremont, Nebraska. Mayme Teresa Linkenheil TENNYSON was born on Mar 13 1898 in Decorah, Iowa. She died in 1972 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Mae married Orville Tennyson at Fremont, Nebraska. The couple lived in Rock Rapids for a a time and then moved to Alexandria,Minnesota. After Orvilles death Mae moved back to Rock Rapids. Mae moved to the George rest home only a day before her death. Orville G. TENNYSON and Mayme Teresa Linkenheil TENNYSON had no children.
