Funeral services were held this morning, June 17, 1981, for Mrs. Emily Manley, age 84, of Rock Rapids, who was found dead in her apartment at the Lyon Hotel here on Monday. She is believed to have died on Sunday, June14, 1981.

Services were held at Jongewaard-Roste chapel in Rock Rapids. Burial was in Riverview cemetery.

Emily Birkland was born on September 28, 1896. She married John Manley on July 5, 1923, and had lived here since that time. Her husband was associated with Harry Medberry and Joe Kerns for years. He died in 1965.

Surviving is her sister Mrs. Helen Doyle of Rock Rapids.
