Funeral services were held June 24, 1961 for Willie E. Peters, of George, Lyon county, Iowa at the Central Baptist Church there. He passed away on June 22, 1961 at the Rock Rapids, Lyon county, Iowa. Willie was 82 years old at the time of his death.

Willie Peters was born on October 9, 1978 in Parkersburg, Butler county, Iowa. At the early age of 6 he moved to George. He was united in marriage to Dora Janssen on October 2, 1907 at George. Here in George he was employed at the Farmers’ Elevator Company. He had been retired since 1945. He was baptized and joined the Central Baptist Church on December 31, 1921.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Eppe Peter and Antje Boomgarden, by his wife Dora, by 3 sons: Willard, Everon and one son who died in infancy.

He is survived by 2 sons, Weldon and Delmer of George; by 2 sisters, Mrs. Katie Boekholder and Mrs. Annie Kruger, both of George, by 4 half-sisters and 3 half-brothers; and by 4 grandchildren.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery west of George.
