Clarence John Casjens, the eldest son of Luis E. and Grace Hassebroek Casjens, passed away June 16, 1961 at San Jose, California. Clarence was born February 18, 1916 at Sheldon, Obrien county, Iowa. At death he had reached the age of 45 yrs, 3 mnths and 28 days.

Clarence Casjens and Dorothy Whitsell were united in marriage June 8, 1940. To this union two sons were born, Judson Clarence and Jerry Lee.

Clarence attended grade and high school in George, Lyon county, Iowa, graduating in 1935. He was employed at the Farmers Elevator in George, serving as manager for 14 years. In 1958 he and his family moved to Kiron, Crawford county, Iowa where he was manager of the Farmers Lumber and Grain Company. In 1960 he and his family moved to San Jose, California where he was credit manager for Thoeney Brothers Hardware.

He is preceded in death by his father, Louis E. Casjens.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, two sons, Judson and Jerry, and his mother, Mrs. Grace Casjens; one brother, Marvin of George; one sister Dehlia, Mrs. Lester Albertson, of Canton, South Dakota.
