Funeral services for Carl W. Stueven, age 85, of George, Lyon County, Iowa, will be held Friday, May 29, 1981, at St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Boyden. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery of Matlock, under the direction of Vogelaar-Bolin Funeral Home of George.

He died on Tuesday, May 26, 1981 at a Sheldon, O'Brien county, Iowa, hospital.

He was born on June 11, 1895, in Lyon county, Iowa. He spent his youth in Lyon county and attended country school.

On February 25, 1920 he married Minnie Luitjens. A retired farmer, Stueven was a lifelong resident of Lyon and Sioux counties.

Survivors include a son, Arthur of George; two daughters, Mrs. Aileen Boone, Orange City, and Mrs. Cornie (Marian) Riemersma, George; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Henry of Sheldon.
