Funeral services for Arvid Newberg, 87, of Lester, Lyon County, Iowa, were held this afternoon (Monday) at the United Methodist Church there. Burial was in Hillside cemetery under the direction of Jongewaard-Stapp Funeral Home of Rock Rapids.

He died on Thursday, April 2, 1981, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, Minnesota.

Newberg was born June 19, 1893 in Heron Lake, Minnesota. On Oct. 11, 1926 he married Wilma Dickman in Sioux Falls, S.D. Newberg operatied a barber shop in Lester for many years.

Survivors include the widow; two sisters, Mrs. Vendela DeMarco, New Rochelle, N.Y. and Mrs. Ellen Trowbridge, San Juan, Texas; and one brother, Vernon, St. Louis, Missouri.
