Funeral services for Fred K. Klaahsen were conducted November 24, 1975 from the Hope Reformed Church of rural George, Lyon county, Iowa. Interment was in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery west of George.

Fred K. Klaahsen was born on March 27, 1906, the son of Klaus F. and Elizabeth (Kruger) Klaahsen. He grew to manhood in this area and attended rural school in Grant Township, also in Lyon county.

On May 7, 1929 he was united in marriage to Grace Krull. The couple farmed 22 years on a farm southwest of George and also operated farms in the Little Rock and Doon areas in the county.

Mr. Klaahsen was recently taken to the St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City where he passed away November 20, 1975, reaching the age of 69 yrs, 7 mnths and 23 days.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Arlys Ann, who died in 1950; and 3 children who died in infancy.

Survivors are: his wife Grace; 3 sons: Kenneth and Roger both of George and Harlan of Sheldon, Obrien county, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 2 brothers: John of George and Louis of Sibley, Osceola county; and 5 sisters: Mrs. Ollie Duitsman and Lillian (Mrs. Henry Sprock) both of George, Dena (Mrs. Leo Pauly) of Apache Junction, Arizona, Bertha (Mrs. Albert DeYoung) of Little Rock and Elnora (Mrs. William Jones of Blackduck, Minnesota.
