Funeral services for Enno H. Stubbe were held on December 9, 1972 at the Hope Reformed Church southwest of George, Lyon county, Iowa. Interment was in the Hope Reformed Church cemetery beside the church.

Enno H. Stubbe was born on November 19, 1900 to Hendrik (Henry) and Antje (Anna) Modder at Freeport, Stephenson county, Illinois. As a youth he lived in South Dakota and came with his parent to Lyon county in 1910. He attended a rural school in Lyon county.

On February 27, 1931 he was united in marriage with Ella Jansen. To this union 4 children were born: Bonnie,; Harlyn; Roger and Elvira. They lived near Magnolia, Rock county, Minnesota for 11 years then moving to George where they had purchased a farm about three miles southwest of the town. He moved to the town of George in 1963.

He was a member of Hope Reformed church, having served as elder for 16 years and as Sunday School Superintendent. He also served as township assessor and on the Co-op Elevator board as well as the County Board of Education.

Mr. Stubbe enjoyed comparatively good health until about two and a half weeks ago, when he complained of internal pains. He entered St. Luke's Medical Center at Sioux City on November 29 where his condition rapidly grew worse. He died peacefully at 2:30 a.m. December 6, having reached the age of 72 year, 17 days.

Left to mourn his departure are his 4 children: Bonnie, Mrs. Ronald Smith; Harlyn; Elvira, Mrs. Jerry Smith, all of George and Roger, of Quito, Ecuador. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Fred H. and Charles H., of George; 3 sisters: Annie, Mrs. Adolf Norman; Esther, Mrs. John Hinrichs; and Cena, Mrs. Albert Rustman, all of George. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and 3 brothers.
